The Lumbee community is the largest Native American community in North Carolina. The Lumbee are one of eight state-recognized Native American communities in North Carolina. They have been recognized by the state since 1885.
The Lumbee are named from the Lumber River which winds its way though Robeson County. With approximately 60,000 registered Lumbee individuals, the community is primarily resident to Robeson, Hoke, Cumberland, and Scotland counties in North Carolina, USA.
Our organization has a great connection with the Native American Lumbee Community in North Carolina which we have had several events incorporating their beautiful music, dances, and culture into our other presentations.
Recently we have had the honor of hosting Little Miss Lumbee Keely Noelle Deal which performed a Native American song for our audience before finishing with an outstanding performance of "I Can Only Imagine"! See the videos at the bottom of this page.
